This is probably my favorite scene in the movie. Imagine you’re Rapunzel. You are compassionate, joyful, and pure, and your reward for that? You’ve just found out that your entire life is a lie - that you’ve been kept in prison for 18 years just to be used by someone whom you loved like a mother but might not have loved you at all, you don’t know. Then, the one person in your life that you know loved you - and who you love dearly - dies in your arms while you are singing to him. I have never known that pain. But I can feel it when I watch her. I am utterly devastated.  M U S T   R E B L O G.

The healing tear was an important element in the original fairy tale. It always symbolized for me that the true nature of Rapunzel’s gift came from her heart, not her hair…. Rapunzel finds that the healing power never left her and is actually released by love.   -GLEN KEANE

The designers of “Tangled” talked about trying to marry the lyrical curves of “Cinderella” with the stout shaped of “Pinocchio.” To me, this screenshot shows that synthesis clearly, with the thick columns juxtaposed against the curves of the detailing on the doors. The King and Queen need to call their decorator, though. Not much in the way of furniture.
