This is not love at first sight. I have never seen a man-type person before, so I don’t know what to think, really. He is beautiful, but not in that way. It’s like a star has just fallen into my kitchen. Or maybe a rampaging bear who wants to eat me. That’s just the point. I have no idea what to make of this. Do I touch his fabulous hair? Do I tie him up and wait for Mother? Hit him again with the frying pan? Maybe I’ll just… Oh crap, he’s moving. FRYING PAN!!!

I always imagine that, somewhere in the castle, the King is looking out at the same lanterns as they flicker and die, wondering if he, too, will ever again see the one he thinks he lost forever.

This is probably my favorite scene in the movie. Imagine you’re Rapunzel. You are compassionate, joyful, and pure, and your reward for that? You’ve just found out that your entire life is a lie - that you’ve been kept in prison for 18 years just to be used by someone whom you loved like a mother but might not have loved you at all, you don’t know. Then, the one person in your life that you know loved you - and who you love dearly - dies in your arms while you are singing to him. I have never known that pain. But I can feel it when I watch her. I am utterly devastated.  M U S T   R E B L O G.
